Position Overview

PDW is seeking an experienced Director of Project Engineering to join our growing technical team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in leading the development, testing, and fielding of PDW products from concept through sustainment. They will be responsible for managing and growing the Project Engineering department. The successful candidate will lead the department by example. The Project Engineering group is responsible for the development and integration of PDW products at a system level ensuring system level requirements are met. hey are the technical interface to major subcontractors. The department owns all aspects of system level test, issues resolution and root analysis. The Director of Project Engineering is expected thrive working in an innovative and fast-paced work environment, be able to deal with problems on the fly and deliver highly capable and reliable systems.

Core Responsibilities

• Manage and lead system level design, integration and test of PDW products to meet system requirements and high reliability
• Manage key subcontractors in technical scope and schedule
• Lead and grow the Project Engineering group and develop any necessary processes
• Coordinate and facilitate the resolution of system and subsystem issues
• Mentor and grow Project and Test engineers
• This candidate works with the Engineering and Product Teams to ensure requirements are correctly understood and translated into clear tasking assignments across the team

Skills and Qualifications

• Experience in the system level design, integration, and test of complex systems for harsh and challenging environments. Unmanned or manned aircraft systems are preferred
• Experience leading the multi-disciplinary engineering teams through the design process for complex projects
• Excellent root cause analysis skills for multiple and complex issues
• Team leadership experience and high comfort level in holding team members accountable for performance and building a healthy team culture
• The ability to create processes, structures, and solutions in a dynamic environment is essential.
• Experience in successfully managing project schedules and timelines
• Ability to obtain a Secret Security Clearance

Professional Experience Requirements:

10 or more years of project engineering experience with minimum of 4 years of hands-on system design or system integration experience.

Educational Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field.

ITAR Requirement

In compliance with International Traffic Arms Regulations (ITAR), candidates must be U.S. Citizens, U.S. Permanent Residents (Green Card holders), or individuals granted asylee/refugee status as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3).
