As the Controller, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting while managing the annual financial audit. Your leadership will extend to coaching and mentoring accounting team members, fostering their growth and development.

With a focus on continuous improvement, you will monitor staff performance, provide feedback, and delegate responsibilities as needed. Your expertise will be instrumental in developing strategies to streamline the financial close process and enhance efficiency.

Collaborating closely with the accounting team, you will oversee the preparation of monthly financial statements for senior leadership and the board. Additionally, you will lead the implementation and maintenance of accounting policies and procedures to minimize risk and ensure compliance.

As a key liaison with external auditors, you will manage the annual financial audit process, providing necessary information and support. Working alongside the CFO, you will assist in preparing the annual budget and forecasts while collaborating with directors to discuss financials and facilitate budget preparation.

Preferred Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
• 5 years experience in the finance industry.
• 3 years experience in leadership positions.
• Strong financial and accounting background, including understanding profit and loss, balance sheet and cash flow management, and general finance and budgeting.
• Ability to understand new issues quickly and make wise decisions.
• Ability to inspire confidence and create trust.
• Ability to work under pressure, plan personal workload effectively, and delegate.
• Experience with developmental disabilities, Medicaid, Early Head Start, and their associated revenue recognition is strongly preferred.
• Ability to speak, hear, and read the English language.
