Fitness Specialist I - Student

Shift : Variable as Needed

Status : PRN / PerDiem

Location : Summa Health Wellness Center, Hudson, Ohio

Summary :

Provides exemplary customer service to members of the Wellness Center in order to appropriately meet their health and fitness needs.

Monitors members for correct exercise positioning and proper use of exercise equipment, provides constant follow through of all member needs, assists with scheduling fitness services for members.

Formal Education Required

Currently enrolled in Exercise Physiology, Exercise Science, Sports Medicine, Sports Management or a related health field

Experience & Training Required

• Basic knowledge of fitness equipment use and exercise form
• Proven experience in customer service related field

Other Skills, Competencies and Qualifications

• Ability to acquire CPR and AED certification within 45 days of hire
• Recognize the importance of and prioritize customer satisfaction and retention.
• Ability to empathize with members who may be experiencing physical difficulties.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; good at public speaking.
• Manual dexterity sufficient to calibrate and operate equipment.
• Ability to maintain a relaxed / professional decorum in client interactions.
• Ability to act swiftly and appropriately to client emergencies.
• Ability to utilize equipment such as stethoscope and sphygmomanometer.
• Ability to effectively interact with populations of patients / customers with an understanding of their needs for self-respect and dignity

Level of Physical Demands

• Ability to stand for long periods of time, walk around on carpeted cement floor, climb stairs frequently throughout the shift and demonstrate proper exercise techniques
• Ability to lift 50 pounds

$15.30 / hr - $18.36 / hr

The salary range on this job posting / advertising is base salary exclusive of any bonuses or differentials. Many factors, such as years of relevant experience and geographical location are considered when determining the starting rate of pay.
