The Elevance Health Companies, Inc. is Hiring a Nurse Practitioner (PRN) Near HOUSTON, TX

Anticipated End Date: 2024-06-10 Position Title: Nurse Practitioner (PRN) Job Description: Location: Houston Texas (Bellaire Area) Work Schedule: This is a PRN position and requires a minimum of 1 day per week of work but up to 2 days as needed. Days are not set days each week. The Nurse Practitioner Specialty (PRN) is responsible for providing for the health care needs of patients in collaboration with a physician, through advanced assessment and identification of health states including abnormal conditions, diagnosing, treatment therapies and/or evaluation. Performs care in a specialty area such as cardiology, pulmonology, neurology, rheumatology, gastroenterology, etc. Primary duties may include, but are not limited to: Utilizes evidence-based clinical practice standards to provide direct clinical services for patients within prescribed guidelines and physician instructions. Acts independently to perform physical assessments, diagnostic functions, specialized risk assessments, and make critical decisions regarding a wide variety of health situations, including high risk and crisis situations. Acquires patient health histories and evaluates patient, performing physical examinations. Orders, interprets and evaluates diagnostic tests to identify and assess patients clinical problems and health care needs. Discusses case with physician. Formulates and documents care plan. Prescribes medication, therapies an/or other forms of treatment. Evaluates the patient’s response to therapy. Participates in On-Call program, which may include after-hours, weekend and holiday calls and visitations. Minimum Requirements: MS in Nursing and minimum of 2 years of related experience with clinical emphasis for nurse practitioner; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background. Current unrestricted RN license and NP license in Texas required. Certification in a specialty or minimum of 1 year experience in a specialty area, such as cardiology, dermatology, orthopedics, etc. Satisfactory completion of a Tuberculosis test is a requirement for this position and Hepatitis B vaccine or signed waiver. Preferred Qualifications: FNP with 2 years of experience preferred. Infusion experience preferred. Direct Patient Care experience.
