We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented staff member to join our billing team. As a member of the billing department, you will be responsible for accurately verifying patient insurance and benefits. Your attention to detail and knowledge of medical billing practices will ensure timely reimbursement and compliance with regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Review and analyze medical documentation to assign appropriate codes for billing
- Submit claims to insurance companies and follow up on any denials or discrepancies
- Verify patient insurance coverage and eligibility
- Communicate with healthcare providers, insurance companies, and patients regarding billing inquiries or issues
- Collaborate with the billing team to resolve any coding or billing errors
Experience:
- Proven experience in the medical field.
- Knowledge of medical office systems, including electronic health records (EHR) and billing software
- Familiarity with medical records and documentation practices
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
