Quality & Safety Associate

Mater Private Hospital Redlands has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Quality and Safety Associate . The successful candidate will be offered Permanent Part Time employment working a 16-hour fortnight.

This position will be based at Mater Redland working with our dynamic team onsite 1 day a week.

Salary range : Competitive salary and access to generous Not-For-Profit salary packaging up to $15,900 annually.

What you’ll be doing

Responsibilities of the role include :

  • Provide support to the Quality Improvement Manager and department managers to support the implementation of quality and risk management systems and improve quality and safety outcomes;
  • Provide support to Quality Improvement Manager and department managers in incident and complaint investigation and coordinate actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Support the implementation of innovation and systems improvement that reduce patient harm;
  • Work collaboratively with other clinicians to facilitate process improvement strategies that support patient safety and the achievement of favourable quality and safety outcomes that align with the national health standards, clinical care standards and advisories.
  • Collect and analyse patient safety and clinical outcome data to assess the effectiveness of implemented strategies.
  • With the support of the Quality Improvement Manager, evaluate quality and safety outcome data to identify opportunities for continual improvement activities.
  • Support the Quality Improvement Manager to improve the effectiveness of the quality management system and monitor compliance with policies, the implementation of corrective and preventive actions and external survey recommendations.;
  • Work in collaboration with the Quality Improvement Manager to coordinate the implementation of recommendations arising from facility / organisational incidents.
  • Continually evaluate and improve the hospital’s quality and safety program based on internal and external requirements.
  • Provide education support related to quality and safety, incident investigation and use of the appropriate reporting tools.

About you

To be successful in your application you will have :

  • Ideally, you will also have at least 5 years frontline clinical experience and intermediate Microsoft Office skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing working relationships to achieved identified outcomes and an ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Effective communication skills with all health care staff.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in health service delivery with appropriate clinical knowledge, experience and skills including a basic understanding of care processes provided in multiple areas of the hospital
  • Demonstrated experience or a willingness to gain an understanding of quality improvement initiatives and their practical application across clinical and support services roles.
  • Demonstrated experience or a willingness to develop analytical skills to trend and interpret data and provide reports on data / information used for projects, evaluation and process improvement activities
