IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: City Administrator
POSITIONS SUPERVISED: Aquatics Director, Buildings and Grounds Maintenance, Front Desk Guest Services Associates, Lifeguards, Slide Dispatch and Custodian
SUMMARY DESCRIPTION
This position is a leadership role within the organizational structure of Evans Plunge. The Facility Director serves as the Department Head of Evans Plunge. The Facility Director is responsible for ensuring optimal levels of guest and member satisfaction through the training and managing of employees. Responsible for the day to day management of the facility in addition to ensuring the entity stays consistent with its long term goals and objectives. It is the responsibility of this position to work cooperatively with Evans Plunge stakeholders in developing the entities goals and objectives.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Develops, implements, monitors and enforces facility policies and activities to ensure compliance with recreation policies and procedures, ordinances and State and Federal laws, regulations or guidelines
2. Leads in the planning administration, coordination direction, inspection, control, budgeting and review of all recreation programs, policies, facilities and services
3. Recommends review of work of assigned staff of Evan’s Plunge facility and leads in making changes in methods, procedures and staffing as deemed necessary
4. Evaluates, advises and makes recommendations regarding necessary fees or charges for various services
5. Prepares, organizes and submits a department budget and ensures department operates within approved budget
6. Ensures inventory levels are properly maintained and recorded
7. Reviews and evaluates personnel performance
8. Leads in the planning and developing of employee training programs, may also lead in actual training various personnel within department
9. Review and organize goals, objectives, and current programs keeping updated on new developments and directs appropriate changes
10. Reviews effectiveness of recreational, including aquatics techniques and polices for the City
11. Maintains systematic, complete, and accurate records of the recreation facility and its programs
12. Represents the City by presenting and interpreting programs and services
13. Provides supervision of facility, programs and activities, maintenance and other facility use
14. Organize and coordinate with interested groups or individuals of preparing special reports or information for the media, service organization or general public
15. Communicates the necessary information and guidance to ensure prompt and courteous response to complaints and concerns, in accomplishing the objectives and goals in the department
16. Responsible for tactfully and effectively carrying out directives, policies and regulations governing the operation, procedures, and performance of duties assigned
17. Deal effectively with subordinates and the general public; reason logically and make sound decisions under pressure and deal with the public criticism tactfully
18. Identify marketing trends and pursue best practices for promoting Evans Plunge
19. Maintain department inventory lists and supply annually to Finance Department
20. Performs related duties as required
PERIPHERAL DUTIES
1. Establishes and maintains a good liaison with other employees, departments, and administration
2. Attend various meetings and participate in boards as assigned
3. Assist with research and applying for grants that apply to recreation
4. Know, practice, and enforce safe work habits
5. May involve occasional travel to applicable seminars and meetings approved by Mayor and/or Council.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts, pool mechanical systems.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
1. High school diploma or GED equivalent
2. Driver’s License
3. Three (3) years of responsible supervisory experience in recreation management
4. Self-motivated and ability to perform well with minimal supervision
OTHER DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
1. Bachelor’s Degree in business, management, hospitality management, or related field
2. Equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the knowledge, skills and abilities required to perform this position

9. Possess administrative ability and good communicative skills, both in oral and written communication
10. Understand, interpret, and apply general and specific administrative and departmental policies and procedures
11. Knowledge and ability to perform all essential functions
12. Demonstrate an awareness and appreciation of the cultural diversity of the community
