Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Regular attendance
• Man designated posts at designated times during the day at the school.
• Patrols district buildings and grounds to reduce the risk of fire, theft, vandalism, and illegal entry.
• Supervise High School parking lots, during, arrival, dismissal, and lunch periods.
• Conduct patrol inspection of interior and exterior doors, windows, and gates to determine their security.
• Confront unauthorized persons for questioning. Detains such persons and contacts administration and/or police for assistance
• Report any unusual conditions or malfunctions of heating, plumbing, or electrical systems
• Patrol interior hallways, building common areas, and exterior school grounds to detect unauthorized persons or vehicles; check cars for parking authorization; determines if vehicles are parked in restricted areas, such as fire hydrants or in driveways.
• Check exterior lighting and emergency access routes
• Evaluate current safety/security practices and makes recommendations to the HHSD Director of Safety for improvement.
• Assist in internal investigations of improper conduct
• Maintain excellent relationships with local police, school staff, and school administrators.
• Attend monthly Safe School and Crisis Response Team meetings.
• Develop appropriate "trusted adult" relationships with students and staff.
• Always act with the best interests of the students.
• Provide security for after school details and school sponsored sporting events.
• Notify the HHSD Director of Safety and/or the building principal about security violations.

Work Location:
1. High School, 10 am- 6 pm, One position

2. Keith Valley Middle School, 7 am - 3 pm, One position

Includes a 30-minute paid lunch within the 8-hour shift
