Ultrasound Technician - Homestead, FL 33032

Compensation: $29 to $35 per hour

Overview: Nexus HR is looking for an Ultrasound Technician for a reputable healthcare facility in Homestead, FL. This is a full-time role.

Client-highlighted qualifications - at least 2 years of ultrasound tech experience and a certification from ARDMS

About the Job

Performs diagnostic ultrasound examinations for subsequent evaluation and treatment by an attending physician. Works effectively with patients and patient’s families and maintains a cooperative relationship with interdepartmental personnel.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Positions and transfers patients comfortably.

  • Selects proper technical factors on an individual patient basis.

  • Performs all ultrasound techniques and examinations, abdominal scans, retroperitoneal scans, obstetric and gynecological scans, and localization for treatment, planning, and minor surgical procedures.

  • Scans patient, marks patient’s body, assists as necessary.

  • Maintains records of examination data and other pertinent information on patients.

  • Selects and operates equipment as directed.

  • Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance programs, and safety, environmental, and infection control standards.

  • Enhances self-growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, in-service meetings, and workshops.

  • Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the patient's age.

  • Provides cooperative and courteous service to staff members, visitors, and patients promptly.

Qualifications:

  • At least 2 years of Ultrasound Technician or comparable work experience

  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Ultrasound Technology, Sonography, or a related field

  • Certification with the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography is highly preferred.

  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certifications

  • Authorized to work in the US

  • Able to work on-site in Homestead, Fl
