At Halifax kitchen, we focus on sustainability by using local products and constantly developing and expanding this philosophy. In our restaurant, we produce our own charcuterie, smoked fish and pastas and strive to make as many ingredients in house as we can. This naturally creates an ever-evolving environment for our team members.

Currently, we have an opening for a dedicated and organized Host (Full-Time/Part-Time) to join us. Our environment thrives on a dynamic pace, and we value your ability to collaborate effectively within a team.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Greet and welcome guests as they arrive at the restaurant
• Escort guests to their assigned tables
• Provide menus and assist guests with any questions or concerns
• Manage reservations and seating arrangements to ensure efficient service
• Maintain a clean and organized work area
• Collaborate with fellow coworkers and management to ensure smooth operations
• Handle guest inquiries, complaints, and special requests in a professional manner
• Assist with taking phone reservations and managing waitlists
• Process payments and issue receipts using the POS system

Qualifications:

• Excellent phone etiquette and communication skills
• Previous experience in a hospitality or customer service role is preferred
• Familiarity with restaurant operations is a plus
• Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Must have a friendly and outgoing personality
• Exceptional customer service skills
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle difficult situations with professionalism
• Strong problem-solving abilities
• Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
