ID Care is Hiring an AR Specialist Near Hillsborough, NJ

ID Care is seeking a Full-Time AR Specialist. This is a hybrid position where the candidate would work 90 days in the office and then a remote schedule would be discussed with the supervisor. If interested, read the job description below and apply.

General Summary: This is a nonexempt position which is responsible for follow-up on any insurance pending accounts with payers. This will also include follow-up with insurance companies by phone or by websites online regarding certain claims that have been generated. The AR Specialist will check the status on claims and file appeals if necessary. This position would require about 80% of phone work and following up on the claims by the payer’s website. Patient collector contacts patients and responsible parties to resolve past-due accounts, investigates account status and initiates collection.

Job Supervisory Responsibilities: None

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Works minimal 60-75 accounts daily.
  • Responsible daily for the correction of primary/secondary rejected claims and the re-submission of rejected claims.
  • Document appropriate follow up notes on accounts and upkeep of any daily spreadsheets required by supervisor.
  • Responsible for accurate and timely follow up on accounts receivables.
  • Submit appeals to insurance as needed.
  • Answer patient questions regarding statements, collection status, etc.
  • Handles collections on unpaid accounts.
  • Perform various collection actions, contact patients regarding unpaid balances, respond to collection agency inquires/correspondence.
  • Evaluate patient financial status and establish budget payment plans.
  • Identify and resolve patient billing complaints.
  • Turn over delinquent accounts to third party collection agency.
  • Record and update addresses.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Equipment Operated: Standard office equipment including computers, fax machines, copiers, printers, telephone, etc.

Work Environment: Position is in a well-lighted office environment with windows allowing the temperature to fluctuate during each season.

Requirements:

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; completed medical billing courses required.
  • 4 years prior medical billing and accounts receivables experience, preferred.

Performance Requirements: This position requires strong working knowledge of managed care plans, insurance carriers, referrals and authorization procedures.

Knowledge:

  • CPT, ICD-9, HCPCS and modifiers.
  • Full-cycle accounts receivable.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Skills:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Must have strong organization, time management skills and pays close attention to details.
  • Possess excellent follow up/follow through skills.

Abilities:

  • Initiate and complete tasks related to job duties without direct request of supervisor.
  • General math skills and statistical analysis when appropriate. Ability to analyze information and problem solve.
  • Ability to work independently to meet tight deadlines.
  • Ability to deal courteously with patients and insurance companies.

Mental/Physical Requirements: Involves sitting approximately 90 percent of the day, walking or standing the remainder.

Other Requirements:

  • Influenza: All employees of ID Care shall be provided the influence vaccine. Employees will be required to obtain the influenza vaccine by December 1 of each calendar year.
  • Covid: Effective 2/1/2024, Anyone who received the covid vaccination after September 11, 2023, meets requirements with 1 dose of covid vaccine.
  • Anyone who received the covid vaccination prior to September 11, 2023, will require 2 doses of covid vaccine.
