GENERAL DUTIES :

Responsible for the daily operations of an elementary kitchen. Prepare and serve food items. Perform inventory tracking and ordering.

Maintain the cleanliness of the kitchen. This is a kitchen manage position which supports the school lunch program at Jackson Elem School.

ServSafe Certification is preferred, Oregon Food Handlers Certification is required prior to first day of employment.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS :

  • High school diploma or its equivalent
  • Proficient oral and written communication skills in English
  • Proficient in the use of computer and Internet based applications, including but not limited to email and systems applications
  • Hold a valid Food Handlers certification
  • One year of experience in food service
  • Experience in the use and maintenance of commercial kitchen equipment
  • Experience coordinating the operations of a kitchen
  • Knowledge of ingredients, supplies and methods used in cooking
  • Knowledge of sanitation standards and safety regulations for chemical use in the kitchen
  • Experience coordinating the operation of a kitchen
