Job Summary And QualificationsRole Summary: Represents the hospital and department by serving as an interface between the client (patient, physicians, nursing, etc.), and laboratory technical areas. Performs a variety of venipuncture techniques involved in the collection of blood specimens from patients for laboratory procedures used in the diagnosis and treatment of disease. Ensures proper patient care by prioritizing physician orders and collecting blood as required.
What qualifications you will need:
  • Required Education: High school diploma or GED
  • Preferred Education: Completion of a phlebotomy training program
  • Preferred Certification: ASPT or ASCP certification
  • Preferred Experience: One-year previous experience in a hospital laboratory, clinic, or physician practice
Highlands-Cashiers Hospital is a community hospital serving Macon, Jackson and the surrounding counties. Located between the towns of Highlands and Cashiers, the hospital offers 24/7 emergency care, acute inpatient care, rehabilitation, as well as long-term care through Eckerd Living Center. Ambulatory services are also available, including therapy services and primary care. Highlands-Cashiers Hospital has more than 24 beds for acute care services and 80 beds in the Eckerd Living Center.
