Compassionate Hands Staffing Solutions LLC is Hiring a Licensed Practical Nurse Near Highland, OH

To care for people who are sick, injured, convalescent or disabled. They participate in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care, based on the objectives, standards, and policies of practical nursing. LPNs work under the direction of Registered Nurses and/or Physicians; the nature of the direction and supervision required varies by State and job setting. Position Responsibilities: LPNs provide direct and individualized nursing care to patients based on the application of scientific nursing principles.


Common responsibilities of LPNs include (but are not limited to):

Provides basic bedside care Maintains comfortable, orderly, safe, and clean environment for patients Measures & records patient’s vital signs (such as height, weight, temperature, blood pressure, pulse, respiration)

Assists with bathing, dressing, and personal hygiene of patients

Prepares and gives injections and enemas

Monitors catheters Records food/fluid input/output

Dresses wounds Assists with bed positioning, standing, and walking of patients

Collects samples for testing

Performs and administers (orally, subcutaneously, through an IV) and records prescribed medications. Reports adverse reactions to medications or treatments in accordance with the policy regarding the administration of medications by a licensed practical nurse

Assists in relevant health teaching for patient and family/significant other

Records all care information concisely, accurately, and completely, in a timely manner, in the appropriate format and on the appropriate forms Performs other position-related duties as assigned, depending on assignment setting

Depending on setting, may also start intravenous fluids

Other Responsibilities:

Completes required orientation as directed by facility Follows facility and OSHA safety rules and procedures while on assignment Follows facility protocol Respects cultural and religious practices of patients Upholds HIPAA regulations Punctual and dependable for assigned/confirmed shifts Endure physical requirements, stand on feet for

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; registered as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the State of employment.
  • Current and valid CPR card
  • One year experience in an Acute Care or Long Term Care setting
  • Systematically assesses the needs of the patient through interview (including history taking), observation, and physical examination (may be selective or total examination).
  • Secures information about the medical plan of care and previous health care experiences, e.g., when applicable, secure a nursing history from the previous nurse practitioners.
  • Notes progress in meeting defined outcomes on critical pathway or multidisciplinary plan of care.
  • Plans and organizes individual nursing care for an identified group of patients.
  • Administers individual nursing care, independently applying both simple and complex techniques and processes that are specific to the needs of the patient.
  • Evaluates the nursing care administered with patients by self. Delegates care in accordance with Nurse Practice Acts and Health care guidelines.
  • Evaluates and documents patient response to prescribed interventions.
  • Completes delegated patient and family teaching including providing patient and family with information about unit and facility policies, procedures, and provisions for self-care and participation in decision-making.
  • Elicits patient and family participation in care in keeping with physiological and psychological readiness.
  • Instructs the patient and/or family on subjects such as disease process, risk factors, and prevention of complications to help them plan for care in the facility and after discharge following prescribed teaching plans.
  • Anticipates from present evidence, nursing and/or medical problems which may arise and initiates preventive measures.
  • Reports patient and family progress in meeting defined outcomes to physicians and members of other health care disciplines.
  • Skillfully uses the range of equipment, medicines, and other modalities, such as CPR, as well as the procedural and educational resources pertinent to assigned work area. Demonstrates knowledge of purpose and expected outcomes.
  • Provides support and assistance to the patient during physician rounds, physical examinations, and surgical and medical procedures completed on the patient care unit.
  • Provides concise communication regarding the patient's progress to Care Team Leader, other nursing staff members, and other health care practitioners.
  • Possesses knowledge of the principles of growth and development for the appropriate age group(s).
  • Demonstrates the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status in relation to the appropriate age group(s).
  • Demonstrates the ability to interpret relevant information needed to identify each patient's nursing care requirements relative to his/her age specific needs.
  • Demonstrates the ability to provide nursing care relative to the patient's age specific needs.
  • Standing, sitting, walking, bending, reaching and stretching.
  • Lifting up to 50 pounds unassisted and up to 325 pounds utilizing an assistive device.
