Central Nassau Guidance and Counseling Services is Hiring a Facilities Associate Near Hicksville, NY

JOB DEFINITION:

The Facilities Associate Will Report to the Assistant Director of Facilities, perform all maintenance company-owned properties and leased spaces in residential and light commercial setting. Ensuring compliance with all state and local regulations.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform minor plumbing repairs including faucets, traps, leaks in faucets and toilets, as necessary.
  • Perform basic electrical work (outlet, switches, light bulbs, ballast/fixture replacement) as needed and determines when an electrician is required.
  • Complete repairs to doors and locks including but not limited to door locks, handles, and frames.
  • Transport goods or equipment as assigned.
  • Maintain and monitor inventory of maintenance supplies, replacement parts
  • Perform other maintenance duties as assigned by management.
  • Perform preventative maintenance as assigned.
  • Work with client representative to ensure that specific needs are met.
  • Works under minimum supervision to perform service and maintenance calls, following company safety protocols.
  • Inspects equipment to identify potential problems to prevent premature and unexpected breakdowns or callbacks.
  • Communicates effectively with all company personnel in person and through CMMS.
  • Represent our company professionally, honestly, and ethically in all business matters and activities.
  • Following standard procedures and process, ensures that all company vehicles are properly cared for.
  • Performs similar/other duties as needed or assigned.
  • Identify and implement quality improvement trainings and activities as part of professional development goals
  • Encourage quality improvement processes and provide consistent resources for QI and professional development
  • Ability to cultivate a culture of inclusion for all employees that respects their individual strengths, views and experiences. A Culture that makes better decisions, drives innovation, and delivers better business results.
  • Execute Work Orders as assigned.


Qualifications and Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate in English (oral and written).
  • Self-starter and team player.
  • Must be organized and able to multi-task.
  • 1-3 years Previous experience facilities maintenance.
  • Possess basic understanding of residential and light commercial related plumbing and electrical.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Must be available late nights, early mornings, weekends and holidays based on building and/or emergency needs.
  • Ability to stand, walk, climb ladders and attic stairs, and maneuver in small spaces including, but not limited to, attics, basements, and crawl spaces.
  • Ability to lift and carry between 25 - 50 lbs.
  • Lifting, squatting, bending, reaching, remaining in a stationary position for prolonged periods of time, and moving for prolonged periods of time.
  • Work outside at times on roof and / or equipment rooms
