Camp Agape is Hiring a Kitchen Staff Near Hickory, PA

The Agape Assistant Cook is a part-time seasonal employee of Agape Ministry with responsibilities for preparing nutritious meals for campers and staff during the summer camping season.

Qualifications:

  • Be a practicing Christian.
  • Have current child abuse and criminal clearances, including FBI fingerprinting.
  • Hold current CPR and First Aid certifications or attain them once employed.
  • Be at least 19 years of age.
  • Have organizational skills.
  • Have experience in food preparation for groups up to 50 and menu planning with special concern for the needs of children (preferred).
  • Be knowledgeable and/or trained in the use of kitchen equipment and propane grill (preferred).

Essential Functions:

  • Be able to lift large pots of water/food to and from the stovetop and oven.
  • Be able to lift large boxes and canned goods on and off storage shelves.
  • Must have the physical endurance to prepare and cook meals as well as clean up the kitchen and serving area after meals.
  • Must have a means of transportation.

Responsibilities:

  • See that applicable governmental health regulations, ACA (American Camp Association) standards, and Camp Agape policies are maintained in the kitchen.
  • Plan and prepare nutritious and appealing meals.
  • Oversee meal preparation and kitchen clean-up.
  • Maintain written records of refrigerator and freezer temperatures. Maintain written records of wash and rinse water temperatures.
  • Keep a record of meals served.
  • Monitor kitchen equipment and supplies.
  • Respond to special dietary needs of camps, staff, and guest.
  • Respond to camp programmatic needs.
  • Report to the Food Service Manger and Program Director (or Executive Director)
  • Other duties as required.

Pay: From $17.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
