Job Summary: Fire Alarm Service Technicians are responsible for inspecting, maintaining, and repairing Fire Alarm systems and associated interface equipment. The Fire Alarm Service Technician will perform both routine inspection, scheduled repairs, and emergency service calls.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine service and maintenance tasks on fire alarm systems in commercial, industrial, and residential buildings. This includes inspecting, testing, cleaning components, and verifying system functionality.
  • Identify and diagnose issues with fire alarm systems. Troubleshoot and repair faulty components, wiring, and equipment to restore optimal system performance.
  • Provides customer instruction on system operation and functionality.
  • Ability to manage job scheduling and job progress in an efficient and cost-effective manner, with a strong focus on quality.
  • Respond to service requests, must be able to accurately diagnose fire alarm system malfunctions and adjust, repair, or replace equipment as needed to bring into compliance.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to clients by addressing their inquiries, concerns, and service requests promptly and professionally. Educate customers on fire alarm system functionality, best practices, and emergency response procedures.
  • Complete and submit all required task-related, activity, productivity, and other documentation in a timely manner.
  • Making sure all work complies with relevant codes and regulations.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of and follow all safety regulations and practices.
  • Ensure proper Maintenance and care of equipment – trucks, lifts, tools, etc.

Qualifications


Education, Licensure & Certifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
  • NICET Level II Certification preferred.

Experience:

  • 2 years of experience, preferably in fire/life safety industry or a related field is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, Capabilities:

  • Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in the FLS industry.
  • Knowledge of NFPA code requirements
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities

Physical Requirements and Working Environments:

  • While performing the essential functions of this job the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands or arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and is occasionally required to lift and/or move heavy objects.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to work for up to 8 hours per day on the following:
    • On Ladders, working with tools, and other devices
    • At heights, which would require use of fall protection equipment and devices
    • Using hand and power tools, including specialty tools resulting in cutting, griding, drilling, fastening and other methods resulting in torque, vibration, noise, etc.
    • Operate specialized equipment, aerial lifts, etc.
    • On feet, climbing, bending over, lifting, overhead work, etc.
  • Working environments can include both commercial and industrial environments, which can potentially expose employees to noise, dust, heat stress, thermal stress, low light conditions, heights, etc.
