Overview

NexGen is looking for a Project Controls Engineer to join the team.

Responsibilities

NexGen Contracting, the self-perform arm of Gray, is based in Franklin, TN, and specializes in executing turnkey project scopes, including concrete, steel, millwright, and finishes. NexGen is fully integrated with Gray Construction and serves as a preferred subcontractor. The NexGen team is made of career, trade-specific professionals and core craftsmen with decades of experience who are dedicated to meeting our customers’ unique needs. NexGen offers a wide range of self-perform services, which include supervision, administration, craft labor, materials, tools, documentation, consumables, and safety devices to successfully carry projects from start to finish.

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting or engineering from an accredited college or university and 3 years of experience, or 7 years of construction related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Basic computer skills and knowledge including the ability to utilize word processing, spreadsheets, software and e-mail.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the project management team in developing the project cost work breakdown structure and job cost set up
  • Develop project invoice schedule of values
  • Manage the project cost earned vs actual value cost tracker
  • Manage vendor invoices
  • Prepare project change request and customer change orders
  • Trend project cost and report deviations from plan
  • Prepare projects for close-out including review of commitment against actual cost
  • Prepare monthly project financial reports
  • Manager level 3 schedule (MS Project, Primavera experience preferred)

Generally, normal office environment where noise level is moderate and temperature/humidity is controlled. Overtime may be required.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
