Miller Sports Construction is Hiring a Carpenter Near Henrico, VA
SANDERS-WOOD SPORT FLOORING INSTALLATIONSPosition Description: Miller Sports is seeking experienced sanders for wood sport flooring installations. Sanders are responsible for all aspects of the surface prep (sanding) to prepare for finishing process (sealing/painting/finish coats). Candidates must be willing to travel (primarily Mid-Atlantic region).
Responsibilities Include
Years Experience: 1 - 3 years

Responsibilities Include
- Sanding of new system installations and refinishing of installed/existing surfaces
- Operations of riding sanders and other sanders/tools to smooth/prepare floors (edgers), including small spaces/corners
- Removal of imperfections
- Work with several different types of wood
- Calibrate and maintain floor sanding machines/equipment
- Examine floors to make sure surfaces are ready for finishing process (sealing/paint/finish coats)/remediate protruding nail heads
- Refasten or replace pieces of old flooring before sanding
- Sweep and vacuum floor after sanding
- Finish floors with buffer or light sander
- Safe transport of equipment/tools
- Ability to communicate, problem solve and work within a crew
- Some overnight travel is required (primarily Mid-Atlantic region)
- 1 to 2 years’ experience sanding residential/athletic flooring
- Surface/floor maintenance experience
- Requires physical work with the ability to lift up to 50 pounds independently and 100 pounds as a team lift
- Wood Sport Systems (installers/Sanders/Painters)
