HaysMed is Hiring an Environmental Services Manager Near Hays, KS

Position Summary: Manages and oversees compliance with regulatory and certifying agencies’ standards; participates in the evaluation and selection of products, supplies, space, and capital equipment; daily operations management and leadership of the department; serves as a resource and mentor; assists in the development of short-term and long-range goals and objectives; selects, orients, supervises, manages and evaluates all staff members; develops operational and capital budgets and maintains financial operations; develops policies, procedures, and protocols to maintain standards of care and regulatory requirements; serves as a liaison between staff, other medical personnel and outreach facilities; and provides leadership in problem-solving and team building.

Responsibilities:

  • Provides positive leadership by an environment of teamwork, open communication and customer service.
  • Responsible for human resources processes including interviewing and orientating staff, ongoing performance management and timekeeping/scheduling and required documentation.
  • Assists in developing financial budget to achieve corporate strategies and financial targets, manages areas of responsibility to optimize revenue and reduce costs.
  • Assists in managing policies and work instructions for compliance with regulatory standards and to improve the overall operation of the facility.
  • Manages and facilitates the establishment and implementation of plans, operations, programs and growth of service
  • Manages and ensures that the staff’s performance follows policies and procedures
  • Serves as a technical and clinical advisor regarding procedures and equipment
  • Oversees or directly delegates responsibility for maintenance schedules on equipment and ensures that equipment is safe for patients and personnel
  • Directs the establishment and performance of quality control procedures to meet regulatory standards and accrediting requirements
  • Responsible for the cleanliness, sterility and operation of all equipment, traffic control and infection control necessary to establish a proper environmental standard for the department
  • Ensure appropriate cleaning and disinfecting techniques are followed to reduce the risk of infection and provide a safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff

Qualifications: 

Preferred:

  • Post high school (vocational or college) 2-4 degree or high school diploma or equivalent.
  • 5 years supervisory management experience with operations of a comparable healthcare, commercial or industrial facility.
  • Experience with regulatory agency requirements relating to environmental cleaning operations preferred Working knowledge of MS Word and Excel.
  • Highly developed interpersonal, organizational, analytical, team building and communication skills.
  • Ability to use a computer and willingness to learn necessary computer skills and software.

Infection Control: Initial and Ongoing training in dealing with infection control. Trainings could include but are not limited to, blood borne pathogens, bodily fluids and bio hazardous materials as it applies to your daily work environment.

Patient Interaction: Periodic 

HIPAA: This position will have access to the following Protected Health Information in order to carry out the duties related to their position at Hays Medical Center based on the following criteria:
Primary – required (routine) to do the job;
Secondary – required for the job, but mostly be exception; and
None – no approved access

Financial Information/Insurance (information related to insurance, billing and payment): Billing Information, Payer Name, Payer ID, Account Balances, Plan Elements Covered, Payment Information, Payment Rates
