Leading the sustainable charge with a fleet of electric vehicles, Tower EV is on the cutting edge of green transportation.

Your role as an HR Coordinator is crucial to the success of our organization. HR Coordinators will provide the introduction to all drivers that are hired into Tower EV. They play a key role in communicating the company culture and policies while ensuring the onboarding documentation and training is managed effectively. HR Coordinators will bridge the gap between the recruitment team and the operations team to ensure driver experience is streamlined as they enter the company. We are confident that your skills and experience will contribute significantly. Below is an overview of your responsibilities and other important information.

 

Job Title: HR Coordinator
Department: EV Operations
Reports to: EV Operations Managers & EV Supervisors
Pay Rate: $20hr 
Overtime: $30hr

Key Responsibilities:

HR Coordinators must be able to perform all of the essential functions listed below, with or without a reasonable accommodation.

New Hire Documentation
  • Take trainings conducted by the HR department to stay up to date on new-hire documents, company policies etc. 
  • Stay up to date with labor laws that directly apply to Tower EV operations; Break & Overtime laws.
  • Keep a batch of new hire documents and tools ready for future trainings.
  • Pay attention to detail and ensure HR documentation is filled out accurately by new employees.
  • Work with the HR department to make sure both physical and electronic onboarding documents are stored/filed in appropriate areas.
Driving Evaluations
  • Have an active California driver’s license and be approved on the company’s insurance.
    Be a safe driver and maintain a clean driving record throughout the term of your employment.
  • Meet minimum vision standards as required by the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) for safe driving. If your driver’s license denotes that you must wear corrective lenses, you must wear them whenever driving for Tower EV.
  • Follow defensive driving techniques and adhere to traffic laws to minimize the risk of incidents. 
  • Learn the Tesla UI and Tesla driver cabin to orient potential employees on the tesla vehicles before the drive test. 
  • Orient potential hires on the driving evaluation and scoring parameters.
  • Be assertive and provide safe directions during the driving evaluations. Use your judgment to end drive evaluations if the driver is deemed inexperienced or poses a safety concern. 
  • Coordinate with interviewers to make sure every drive test is conducted only after the candidate has been successfully added to the company insurance policy. 
  • Maintain accurate reporting of all drive tests and file the reports in appropriate areas per the guidance of the HR department. 
Trainings
  • Update software on training laptops and keep them ready (clear browsing history, cookies etc. after each session) for upcoming training. 
  • Maintain a welcoming training environment. 
  • Acknowledge and orient all trainees on the training agenda for each session. 
  • Collaborate with runners to help trainees find parking. 
  • Perform post training document and app sign on verifications.
  • Submit training reports and send them to appropriate departments. 
  • Conduct training efficiently. Review processes and come up with ways to improve the training workflow. 

Communications and Leadership

  • Proficiency in English, including reading, writing, speaking, and listening. 
  • Ability to read and understand various app interfaces and documents.
  • Maintain a positive attitude and assist drivers with app issues and questions with paperwork.
  • Demonstrate strong problem-solving abilities to address unexpected challenges or issues that may arise during training.
  • Remain calm and composed under pressure and take proactive measures to resolve issues effectively.
  • Coordinate with interviewers and co-HR Coordinators to schedule training sessions efficiently. 
  • Work with other departments to stay up to date on company timelines, projects and policies.

Compliance 

  • Abide by all company policies.
  • Exercise caution and vigilance to avoid accidents and damages to company property.
  • Maintain confidentiality with employee documents and private employee information. 

General Skills and Qualifications

  • Be able to handle the mental stresses involved in interacting with various personalities and attitudes on a daily basis. 
  • Be open to feedback and coaching from supervisors and management to improve performance and service quality. Demonstrate a willingness to learn and adapt to changes in company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a clean workspace.
  • Be able to lift up to 50 pounds without assistance as needed.
  • Be able to sit & stand for up to 10-12 hours per day, not including meal breaks and paid rest breaks.
  • Be able to frequently move to interact with fellow employees and/or clients. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close and distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Deal with stress associated with a fast-paced work environment and multiple priorities/tasks. 
  • Make judgment decisions and adapt to changing situations, grasp and apply new ideas, communicate with various team members at all levels and have the ability to apply common sense to carry out detailed instructions.

Technology

  • Proficiently operate the Uber driver app, navigation systems, Tesla interface, Workramp, ADP, scale fusion, e-sign softwares, operating systems and other apps used by Tower EV.
  • Be familiar with google drive, docs and spreadsheets, forms or other equivalent softwares. 
  • Stay updated on technological advancements and utilize relevant tools and resources effectively. 
  • Be able to quickly learn new apps/softwares/dashboards adopted and used in the company.
  • Abide by the company's cyber security policies.

Work Schedule

HR Coordinators are required to have flexible schedule availability to ensure hiring needs are met. Schedules may be adjusted anytime to meet the needs of the operations but the management will work with you to find a balanced and predictable schedule when possible.

Texting with drivers is discouraged unless there is an emergency. All official communication must happen in the channels mentioned above.
