This Position is located at Hogan Regional Center at 4HC in Danvers, MA
The Registered Nurse II (RN II) is an excellent opportunity for potential candidates who are interested in furthering their career and broadening their nursing experience within the Department of Developmental Services (DDS). The RN II will provide nursing care and oversight to individuals located at the Hogan Regional Center in Danvers, MA.
Duties and Responsibilities: (these duties are a general summary and not all inclusive.)
  • Implements the acute and long-range nursing care plan by providing direct and indirect nursing services to minimize residents’ actual or potential health care problems.
  • Collects, communicates, and records data about health and functional status of individuals by interview, examination, and review of record and reports in order to identify actual or potential health problems.
  • Evaluates the residents’ response to nursing interventions by using current data to determine if expected outcomes are achieved.
  • Initiates and completes documentation that reflects high quality nursing assessment, planning, and evaluation.
  • Provides training for peers, interdisciplinary team members, and direct care staff by demonstration, formal and informal teaching, and by conducting case conferences in order to ensure that safe effective health care is provided.
  • Trains direct care staff in Risk Management protocol to ensure that residents are provided with a safe environment.
  • Articulates the health care needs of residents to the members of the interdisciplinary team by participating in team meetings in order to ensure holistic active treatment programs are developed for residents.
  • Assigns tasks, or delegates care, based on the needs of the individual and knowledge and skill of the LPN I, LPN II, or RN I.
  • Interacts with residents by demonstrating acceptance of them as unique, worthwhile, and important individuals in order to develop a trusting relationship.
Please Note:
This position is designated as an "EMERGENCY" position in the Department of Developmental Services Emergency Plan. This means that whenever the Governor declares that the Commonwealth is in a state of emergency, you will be required to report to work.
This position is in a program that operates 24 hours a day 7 days a week. The Department of Developmental Services requires employees in this position to be able to perform mandatory overtime when circumstances dictate the need.

Schedule:
Part Time 11:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m. (24 hours per week)
Alternating weekends
Days off during the week to be determined.
Applicants must be flexible in work schedule.

ALL EMPLOYEES ARE PAID ON A BI-WEEKLY BASIS AND MUST HAVE DIRECT DEPOSIT. Listed salary ranges are for one full year at current rates.
Qualifications

First consideration will be given to those applicants that apply within the first 14 days.
MINIMUM ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS:
Applicants must have at least (A) one year of full-time, or equivalent part-time, experience as a registered nurse in a recognized hospital, clinic or medical facility, or (B) any equivalent combination of the required experience and the substitutions below.
Substitutions:
I. A Graduate degree with a major in Nursing may be substituted for the required experience.*
  • Education toward such a degree will be prorated on the basis of the proportion of the requirements actually completed.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS FOR ALL LEVELS IN SERIES: Current and valid registration as a professional nurse under the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing.
  • Recent graduates from an approved school of nursing must have applied for the first available registered nurse examination.
Based on assignment, possession of a current and valid Massachusetts Motor Vehicle Operator's license may be required.
