Helgesen Industries is a family owned, globally focused manufacturer headquartered in Hartford, WI. We make products for some of the top companies in the US and internationally, and do so proudly.
Under the direction of the CFO, the Senior Accountant will analyze Helgesen's overall financial performance and understand variances versus budget, forecast, and the prior year.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Other duties may be assigned):
• Preparing month-end and year-end financial statements, journal entries and various balance sheet account reconciliations
• Drilling into monthly financials to understand discrepancies, making corrections and putting controls in place to prevent the same issues from repeating
• Partnering with our Operations team to understand our manufacturing costs and identify cost improvement opportunities
• Partnering with our Commercial team to analyze profit margins by customer and by product so we can make appropriate business decisions
• Owning our inventory standard costing process and rolling standard costs in accordance with company policies
• Identifying and implementing process improvements to drive efficiency within the Finance department
• Running bi-weekly payroll through our ERP system (SyteLine) and ADP
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
• Solid technical background in generally accepted accounting principles and internal controls over financial reporting
• CPA or CMA strongly preferred
• Strong technical skills with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Access
• Prior experience with Infor SyteLine ERP is a plus
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance with 3 to 7 years of related experience. Prior experience in public accounting and manufacturing are a plus.

-Assist with maintaining and reconciling sub ledgers to the general ledger
-Contribute to monthly and annual financial statement preparation and analysis including supporting work-papers

-Fixed asset management including tracking of fixed asset purchases, recording depreciation and accounting for disposition
-Miscellaneous tax preparation including: sales tax, personal property, various state required returns, unclaimed property
