Emergency Dispatcher
Duties:
- Receive emergency calls and gather necessary information
- Dispatch appropriate emergency personnel to the scene
- Provide instructions to callers on how to perform life-saving techniques until help arrives
- Monitor and track the status of emergency response units
- Transcribe and document all relevant information accurately
- Coordinate with other emergency agencies as needed
- Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately
- Use computer systems for data entry and retrieval
- Operate phone systems and radio equipment effectively
Skills:
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to remain calm and composed in high-stress situations
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Proficient in conflict management and negotiation techniques
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively
- Familiarity with emergency response procedures and protocols
- Certificate in Emergency Dispatching or related field is preferred
