SUMMARY: Provides assistance in planning and conducting programs to ensure the effective and efficient operation of the life enrichment program.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
1. Assists with developing and administering a variety of life enrichment activity programs including daily, weekly, and monthly events and programs that are designed to:
2. Conducts group and individual programs that support one or more of the following categories
3. Gives assistance or oversight to plans for special events (i.e., staff Christmas program, recognition days, and sales of plants and crafts at yearly fund raisers). Works with other staff or the auxiliary to promote and manage the activity segments of each of the above events.
4. Devises a schedule of individual activities based on assessed needs and abilities for those residents unable to participate in group activities.
5. Records residents' daily participation and assists in completing resident assessments as needed.
6. Assists with regular care of pets and plants, recording minutes of residents' council, seasonal decorating, displaying of collections or hobbies, storing and housekeeping tasks related to therapeutic activity program.
7. Attends inservice training sessions and participates in continuing education seminars.
8. Interfaces with staff to plan trips and may drive a bus or van.
9. Works with entire therapeutic activity team in planning for monthly calendar including developing, inputting, and planning programs.
10. Assists with promotion, publicity, and communication tasks related to planned events.
11. Assists with weekend and holiday programming and works a rotating schedule as directed by the Coordinator.
12. Adheres to the Peter Becker Community Code of Conduct and all Corporate Compliance and HIPAA Policies and Procedures.
13. Adheres to facility and department dress code.
14. Attends all mandatory in-services.
15. Attendance is an essential function for this position.
16. Performs additional duties as required.
