Morgan Engineering is Hiring a Crane Technician Near Hackberry, LA
At Morgan, we partner with our customers to design and implement solutions for the world’s most complex material handling needs. We are currently looking for a Crane Technician to join our growing Morgan Site Services team in the Lake Charles, Louisiana area.
Responsibilities
- Assemble, install, wire and commission Morgan industrial overhead cranes at customer sites across the U.S.
- Perform preventative maintenance on overhead cranes.
- Inspect mechanical and electrical systems on overhead cranes.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical systems, as well as AC and DC electrical systems.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least 1 year of experience in a related industry.
- Ability to read blueprints and use metrological instruments such as micrometers.
- Basic organization, communication and problem-solving skills.
- Skills in one or more of the following areas are preferred: Millwright work, iron work, pipefitting, electrical meters, basic machining, basic welding and rigging.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
- Successful passage of a background check and drug screen.
- Ability to regularly move parts and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to travel up to 50%, as needed.
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Ability to work in confined spaces, and climb to heights which may exceed 150 ft.
- Willingness to work overtime, nights and weekends as required by workload.
- Willingness to observe and comply with all safety and project rules.
- Demonstrated leadership skills, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
