This new hire will work at McCormick's global headquarters in Hunt Valley, MD and will be eligible to participate in McCormick's hybrid work program (50% onsite and 50% remote per month).

Position Overview:

The Program Management Office (PMO) Director is a leader within the Enterprise PMO team and is responsible for the overall management of large-scale cross-functional projects and/or programs. This role has overall accountability of the assigned projects and has the responsibility to develop project timelines, holding cross-functional team members accountable for action completion. This role also identifies interdependencies and ensures that the project team balances and understands the impact of cross-functional decisions. Additionally, this role ensures that all key milestones are met and that potential issues are elevated to the appropriate levels and stakeholders for resolution. This role is an active participant and leads the resolution process to drive toward project delivery goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leads a sub-set of the Enterprise PMO team, assigns work, balances workload, coaches the team on PMO CBAs
  • Defines the list of dependent projects, processes, and decisions that need to be completed to reach the overall project goals. Resolves and balances conflicting priorities and timelines. Maintains cross-functional view and influences across multiple functional areas, including Regulatory, Quality, Procurement, Planning, Marketing, Sales, Packaging Development, Product Development, Engineering, Manufacturing and Distribution.
  • Manages project deliverables through effective constructions of timelines, schedules, deliverables and stakeholder management. Utilizes all McCormick’s project management CBAs. Communicates project status to all levels of the organization as required along with any changes to original scope and/or commitments.
  • Collaborates with change management on development and execution of the process and training plans.
  • Coordinates the identification and resolution of project risks and issues. Effectively utilizes the project team to drive continuous improvement and facilitate resolution.
  • Application of Startup systems and tools such as “Commissioning/Qualification/Verification” matrix and KPI reporting

Required Qualifications:

  • BS Business, Supply Chain, Marketing, Project Management or related field of study
  • At least 10 years of business experience across multiple disciplines and large-scale project management experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise good judgment under pressure and in sensitive situations.
  • Previous project management experience and leadership of teams which are diverse and cross-functional is required. Sets direction for others to work toward goals and completion of objectives. In-depth knowledge of project subject matter and various functional areas, with ability to tie together interdependencies to achieve the greatest business impact.
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply independent judgment to solve problems; inspires loyalty and trust; handles oneself ethically, ability to motivate, ability to lead without formal authority; ability to influence outcomes; ability to get things done through others.
  • Regularly communicates with function heads and senior leadership teams. Regularly interacts across functions and competing priorities.
  • Demonstrated managerial skills, presentation, negotiation and communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively relate and to communicate with all levels of management and employees.
  • Knowledge of project management principles, resource management and change management techniques.
  • Broad understanding of end to end business process – Regulatory, Quality, Procurement, Planning, Marketing, Sales, Packaging Development, Product Development, Engineering, Manufacturing and Distribution

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA
  • PMP Certification (or simliar)
