A Mississippi Medical Cannabis Work Permit is required to obtain this position. Experience in the industry and/or customer service is preferred. Essential Functions, Duties, & Responsibilities:

Dispensary Agent/ Budtenders often serve as the face of the company - making an important first impression on patients, caregivers, & regulatory officials.

Under the direction of a Manager, Dispensary Agent/ Budtenders assist patients & caregivers, & are responsible for providing various support services that are essential in day-to-day dispensary operations.

The Dispensary Agent/ Budtender is responsible for interacting with, dispensing to, consulting, educating, & advising patients face-to-face & by phone, record-keeping, & assisting with inventory control.

The Dispensary Agent/ Budtender will be cross trained in all other departments including patient intake, consultations, order fulfillment, & other basic tasks.

A Dispensary Agent/ Budtender will provide product/services information to customers in our store. The best Bud Tenders are genuinely excited to help customers. They love to talk, and listen to customers.

- Serve as a core member of the sales team.

- Greets patients in person or on the phone.

- Perform consultations and dispense to patients in compliance with state and company regulations.

- Assist with fulfillment, inventory, and patient intake as needed.

- Provide patients with information on types, methods, and efficacy of various cannabis products (we do not provide medical advice).

- Stay informed about current inventory, new cannabis products on the market, and their medical uses through trade shows and research.

- Maintain licensure through the Mississippi State Board of Pharmacy.

- Stock accessory shelves and restock products and merchandise in the store.

- Greet patients, caregivers, and vendors with a positive attitude.

- Cross-check information between the state database and patient records to ensure accuracy and update records as necessary.

- Maintain patient records in compliance with state law and company policy.

- Answer questions about the law and the company from patients and others.

- Work well with others in a fast-paced, dynamic retail environment.

- Assist patients in selecting medical marijuana products and advise them about safe dosage and other aspects of cannabis use.

- Maintain a clean, safe, welcoming environment inside and outside the facility.

- Complete continued, ongoing cannabis education and training.

- Assist other departments as needed throughout the day.

- Ensure AV equipment displays proper content.

- Process customer payments using the dispensary's Point of Sale (POS) system.

- Accurately weigh, package, and label cannabis products.

- Verify customers' identification documents to confirm they are of legal age.

- Take inventory of cannabis products and ensure the sales floor is adequately stocked.

- Identify and assess customers’ needs to achieve satisfaction and meet sales targets.

- Prepare customers for their visit by answering questions about our products and services.

- Display products appropriately on shelves, walls, and displays.

- Check stock items regularly to ensure they are in good condition.

- Use cash register to process payments and handle inventory counts.

- Maintain cleanliness of the store during business hours.

- Work cooperatively with other personnel to ensure customer satisfaction.

- Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

- Must be 21 years of age & comply with all local, state, & company regulations

- Previous sales experience

- Medical Cannabis Work Permit issued by the Mississippi Department of Health.

- High school diploma or GED.

- Sound knowledge of cannabis strains and their medicinal benefits.

- Outstanding organizational skills.

- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Effective communication skills.

- Exceptional customer service skills.

- Required to undergo a criminal background check & appropriate state badging (as directed by state ordinances)

o Class 1 misdemeanors & all felonies are disqualifying for the position

- United States Citizen, or authorized to work in the United States

- Live within 30 minutes of the Dispensary preferred

- High school diploma or equivalent

- 2 years’ experience in a fast-paced client-service intensive industry preferred, 1 year required

o Hospitality & retail sales backgrounds preferred

- Computer & equipment operations necessary for running an office/retail center (POS systems; Word; Excel; office equipment such as copiers/telephone systems)

- Familiarity with history & varieties of medical marijuana preferred

- Outstanding phone & in-person customer service skills

- Retail environment involves frequent & prolonged standing at the POS station to ring up patients

- Intake of patients involves prolonged sitting at the check-in desk

- Daily retail tasks require frequent bending, crouching, or reaching to retrieve items from cabinets & present those items to patients

- Use of eye, hand, & finger coordination is required to check items against the invoice & place them into bags

- Additionally, visual verification is required to compare items sold to the patient’s invoice

- The employee must occasionally move packages weighing up to 20 lb. & move in a variety of positions.
