Description

PURPOSE

Responsible for ensuring that all finished products manufactured on the line are properly removed from the rollup bar, and packaged accordantly to customer specifications, finished products are packaged for shipment according to Company Quality Procedures, ISO Procedures, and Customer Specifications.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Check manufacturing order for special instructions before the production of product begins. If the customer has cited a previous quality complaint, the quality will be attached to the manufacturing order. Inspect and review the complaint with the Line Operator and Shift Production Supervisor before running the product. Implement all corrective actions listed on the complaint sheet.
  • Set the meter length correctly according to the length of the roll on the manufacturing order. The length of the roll must be no less than the length of the roll specified on the order. Short Roll will not be shipped to the customer.
  • Ensures that all finished products are properly removed from the rollup bar on the line, and packaged according to company quality policies, ISO procedures, and customer specifications. Lift rollup bar loaded with filtration medial roll from the Take-off station to the table, takes the rolls off the rollup bar and reloads the bar with tubes.
  • Check for coned roll. Rolls must not cone more than tolerable limit and should be immediately corrected. Rolls coned more than the tolerable limit of 5 cannot be shipped to the customer.
  • Inspect the width of the rolls under the following circumstances and as specified on the manufacturing order
  • As ISO Procedure Specifies
  • After Every Changeover
  • After Every Slitter Movement and Change

Rolls back to roll five (5) feet flat on the floor before taking width measurements. Immediately corrects the width problem and notifies the Line Operator

  • As Product Specification Specifies
  • No Rolls with Narrow Width Shall be Shipped to Customer

If the product is non-conforming, corrective action is taken immediately to bring the product into conformity and relevant tests repeated to ensure that the product conforms to specification. All product sanctioned as non-conforming will be clearly identified immediately, and when possible quarantine to be reviewed according to the Non-conforming Product Review Procedure.

  • Splices rolls, as specified by the Splicing Instruction-Rando, when non-conforming product is found and documents the information on the Scrap Report-Rando.
  • Verifies that the weight of the roll does not exceed maximum and minimum weight. Roll weight must be checked on every roll per ISO Specification
  • Visually inspects all finished products, including packaging to ensure product conformity according to Quality Policies, ISO Procedures and Customer Specifications.
  • Restocks supplies as needed to finished rolls at takeoff station.
  • Measure and cut tubes being used during the shift, cleans up bandsaw work area after each use.
  • Places correct size tubes on doffer bar and tapes tubes with two-sided tape.
  • Tubes must not stick out for end of the roll.
  • Tube must be even (flush) with the end of the roll.
  • First check the width of the rolls to be run before cutting tubes.
  • Verify that the correct color matches customer specifications. Doubtful color must be reported the shift Production Supervisor immediately.
  • Raises and lowers jack when finishing or beginning doff.
  • Bag rolls, tags and marks properly.
  • Help thread the line on start-ups.
  • Empties trash receptacles on the line and transports into the Trash Compactor Room.
  • Help in keeping the line in an orderly manner. This includes general housekeeping, such as cleaning and sweeping on a daily basis.
  • Other duties assigned by the Line Operator, Shift Production Supervisor, and or Plant Manager.

  • Wears assigned designated Personal Protective Equipment.
  • Attends mandatory Safety meetings as scheduled.
  • Maintains OSHA standards compliance as described in company safety policies.

QUALITY STANDARDS

  • Understands and identifies Quality Statement.
  • Maintains quality specifications per customer requirements.
  • Understands and maintains procedures and work instructions.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

  • Basic addition, subtraction, multiplication and division required.
  • Problem solving skills required.
  • Standard gauges (scales, tape rule, measuring devices)

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Possesses the ability to bend, stoop, and lift 50 pounds.
  • Follows directions and instructions well.
  • Must have a good command of the English language, written and verbal.
  • Walks and stands for an shift, 8 to 12 hours rotating shifts( as assigned shift)
