Full-Time Health and Safety Consultant

The Amerisafe Group is a national, full-service safety staffing, consulting, occupational health company and confined space rescue company. Our staff of safety and health professionals have proven experience in developing and managing health and safety programs for a wide range of industries. We are currently seeking a Health and Safety Consultant with 3 to 5 years of experience to join our Consultation Group based in Greensburg, Pennsylvania. The professional will be expected to provide industrial hygiene, training and related professional services to our many construction and general industry clients. The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated professional with diverse experience and capable of quickly learning Consultation Group operations. The successful candidate will possess a proven track record in the execution of health and safety projects, delivering technical services, and in client development and business relations.

Responsibilities:

• Execution of technical projects (start to finish); maintaining and expanding client relations; and development of new clients
• Conducting plant or area industrial hygiene surveys to determine exposures to materials or conditions including (but not limited to) noise, dusts, fumes, gases, and solvents
• Managing the completion of comprehensive exposure assessments, industrial hygiene surveys/analyses, and industrial hygiene report generation
• Recommending control measures for exposure to hazardous materials or conditions
• Providing safety program review, development and management services to clients
• Developing and presenting industrial hygiene and safety-related training to our clients

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and/or Safety, EHS or related technical discipline
• 3 years of experience as a Health and Safety professional providing industrial hygiene services, technical safety services and/or managing health and safety activities - preferably in a wide range of industries
• Knowledge of OSHA health and safety requirements a must
• Experience developing programs, presenting training, and performing industrial hygiene and safety-related activities
• Results oriented and productive in a fast-paced work environment
• Have strong analytical and decision-making abilities, and be a creative problem-solver
• Solid verbal and written communication skills, as well as strong technical skills
• Safety-related certifications (CHST or other) or advanced degree a plus
• Proficiency in computer use including Microsoft Excel and Word applications
• Good organizational and time management skills

Job requires travel, including some involving overnight stays (estimated at 10-15% per month).

Salary is commensurate upon education and experience.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $67,500.00 - $80,000.00 per year
