The Clinician provides counseling, training and assistance in areas of Somatic/Mental Health, Community Living, Personal and Social Skills, Activities of Daily Living (ADL), medication monitoring,
crisis assessment, intervention, safety issues and problem resolution. Responsibility also includes completing and processing required documentation. All of this is done to assist persons served to become independent and to encourage efforts towards recovery/rehabilitation.
The Clinician’s goal is to increase the person’s capacity for independent community living, through the establishment of individual support, rapport, role-modeling, teaching, and the provision of activities and learning experiences. The Clinician is also assigned tasks and functions to cover vacancies or absences as required. The Clinician exercises discretion and sound judgment in the performance of the duties of the position.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
A Bachelor's degree in clinical or counseling psychology, social work, nursing, vocational/psychiatric rehabilitation, education or other mental health field from an accredited college or university; plus at least five (5) years’ mental health experience, two (2) years of which must be in a residential setting.
