S. Lichtenberg & Co., Inc. is a leading supplier of home textiles in the U.S. with a broad customer base in brick and mortar and e-commerce. This position is on-site at our Great Neck Office. In-office days are Monday through Thursday with every Friday as a work from home option.
We are seeking a dynamic team player to perform the forecasting and demand planning functions for assigned accounts, manage inventory levels and prepare various analytical summaries to customers. The Demand Planner collaborates with internal departments to provide ongoing analysis and monitoring of performance to plan.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Create and maintain weekly and monthly SKU forecasts for all assigned accounts.
· Quantify driving factors and risks around forecasts.
· Project sales for Purchasing, Sales, and Finance planning activities.
· Perform ongoing analysis and monitoring of actual performance to forecasted plan, identify significant variances, and take corrective actions.
· Collaborate with Sales team to integrate demand drivers into forecasts including store counts, promotional activity, new style updates, phase out strategies, placement, pricing and internal revenue budgets.
· Work cross-functionally to create new product launch forecasts.
· Identify replenishment opportunities and liabilities while strategically reacting to these changes in business trends.
· Monitor daily EDI orders by account.
· Initiate purchase requirements to Sourcing Department.
· Manage inventory flow so that both customer requirements and target inventory levels are achieved.
PROBLEM SOLVING & DECISION MAKING:
• Gather and analyze forecast relevant information from internal and external account sources which include inventory policies, planning objectives and events such as customer builds and fills.
• Build unit SKU level forecasts for major accounts by using POS, shipment patterns, gathered retailer/E-commerce relevant information, and booking data.
• Perform regularly scheduled and ad-hoc analysis and reporting related to forecast performance metrics, inventory levels, and order fill rates.
• Prepare and present various analytical summaries (sales, inventory, etc.) to customers and internal teams.
• Identify and publish close-out information to Sales team.
• Effectively communicate between inter office departments & overseas vendors.
• Report/call out color/style trend to Design, Sales and Management.
• Participate in market appointments and account meetings.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
· Bachelor's Degree preferably in Math, Business, Supply Chain, Statistics, Finance, Operations Finance or Engineering.
· 3-5 years of experience in Wholesale, E-commerce, or Retail Planning in a weekly replenishment environment with major retailers - home goods/textile industry a plus.
· Advanced knowledge of Excel is required
· Knowledge of demand management/forecasting tools, forecasting processes in sales, operations, finance, manufacturing and supply chain issues.
· Strong independent work ethic and business acumen.
· Detail-oriented, ability to multi-task, and prioritize.
· Strong organizational and communication skills, both written and verbal.
· Strong math, forecasting, financial planning, and analytical skills.
· APICS Certification preferred.
