Fuller Industries is Hiring a MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR Near Great Bend, KS

Summary: As a Maintenance Supervisor you will be responsible for hiring and training staff and ensuring the smooth running of upkeep or repair operations. An excellent maintenance supervisor must be reliable and have a great eye for detail. They must have technical skills and knowledge of various crafts such as carpentry, plumbing etc. Leadership and knowledge of administrative tasks such as scheduling are also essential. The goal is to ensure that facilities are always in a good and safe condition.
Essential Duties
  • Inspect facilities periodically to determine problems and necessary maintenance
  • Prepare weekly maintenance schedules and allocate work
  • Recruit, supervise and train maintenance technicians
  • Hire and supervise tradesmen during installations, repairs or maintenance (electricians, plumbers etc.)
  • Inspect and maintain building systems (heating, ventilation etc.)
  • Contribute to the development of maintenance budget and ensure compliance
  • Monitor inventory of materials and equipment
  • Participate in coordinaton of projects (e.g. renovations)
  • Ensure adherence to quality standards and health and safety regulations
Qualifications
  • Mechanically inclined – Knowledge of and demonstrable ability in the use of common hand tools, and an understanding of mechanical processes.
  • Extensive knowledge of safe work practices with circuits up to 480VAC 3PH, on a routine basis.
  • Willingness to work non-traditional hours including nights, weekends and possibly holidays.
  • Ability to stand and walk on concrete floors for up to 12 hours and lift 75 pounds.
  • Ability to read and use mechanical and electrical schematics for troubleshooting.
  • Ability to use an electrical Multimeter and other handheld meters for troubleshooting or calibrating.
  • Understanding of and ability to troubleshoot and repair industrial pneumatic and hydraulic system components, such as pumps, valves, cylinders, motors and solenoids.
  • Understanding of and ability to troubleshoot and repair industrial electrical system components such as motors, variable AC drives, PLCs, and field sensors.
  • Understanding of industrial air compressors and peripheral components such as, dryers, water separators, filters.
  • Proven experience as maintenance supervisor or similar role
  • Strong technical knowledge of all building systems (electrical, heating etc.)
  • Knowledge of health & safety practices and regulations
  • Understanding of budgeting and performance management
  • Excellent planning and leadership abilities
  • An eye for detail
  • Computer savvy
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • High school diploma; Degree from a vocational school will be a plus
  • Professional Certifications (e.g. CMRP or HVAC certified) are preferred
Language SkillsMust be able to read, write and speak English, bilingual a plus.
Certificates, Licenses, RegistrationsMust be able to read, write and speak English, work with simple arithmetic, and understand ordinary verbal and written instructions. High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred; some high school education required.
Work EnvironmentWork is performed under generally good conditions with some machine noise, fumes, oil, and dirt present. Adequate lighting, ventilation is present. Extreme outdoor temperatures will influence the temperature in the production area.
Exposure to usual minor shop injuries such as cuts bruises, burns and sprains are inherent in the job. Some exposure to more serious hazards; however, probability of serious injury will be minimized by adherence to established safety regulations.
Training will be provided to personnel who may occasionally wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

  • Standing or sitting for extended periods of time;
  • Use hands to touch, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls;
  • Reach with hands and arms;
  • Talking or hearing;
  • Occasional walking;
  • Stoop; kneel; crouch;
  • Lifting/handling: exert up to 50 pounds occasionally; up to 20 pounds of force frequently; and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
  • Vision: color; close; peripheral vision; depth perception; and, ability to adjust focus.
