Job Title: Event/Outreach Coordinator
Reports to: Program Coordinator and Executive Director United Way of Nevada County
Job Type: Part Time, Non Exempt, Temporary - through December 2024

General Summary
United Way of Nevada County (UWNC) seeks an Event/Outreach Coordinator to execute UWNC's new disaster preparedness awareness program.

Responsibilities and Duties
Seek out opportunities with other organizations to provide education and awareness of disaster-preparedness;

Attend various community events and create opportunities to educate the public and disseminate the information;

Assist/support volunteers with canvassing;

Assist the Program Coordinator with the planning, coordination, and promotion of all community event;
Monitor the inventory and manage the ordering of education materials as needed.

Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Personal volunteer experience and commitment to volunteerism in community service;

Excellent written and verbal communications skills;
High levels of discretion, sensitivity, and good judgement;
Self-motivated with ability to operate independently and ability to work collaboratively as a team member;
Able to attend morning, evening, and weekend events/meetings outside of normal office hours;
Demonstrated proficiency in computer applications of Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel; and
Bilingual in English and Spanish

Physical Requirements and Work Environment
The Program Coordinator will be expected to have daily transportation to attend program events as necessary. The position could involve intermittent physical activities including bending, reaching, sitting, and walking.
