JOB DESCRIPTION
Shift: Monday to Friday 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Onsite but some remote work available depending on testing schedules
Interview: Phone screen and Onsite interview
Must haves:
- Extensive experience designing test methods, data collection and analysis
- Some horticulture experience
- Must have at least an Associate Degree in a technical field
Job Title: Horticulture Testing Technician
PURPOSE OF THE JOB
The *** Horticulture Product Development Technician is responsible for supporting innovation as a member of the Horticulture Development Team. The Horticulture Product Development Technician will play a significant role in the development and implementation of new products and process technologies by partnering with engineers in both lab and manufacturing environments to achieve our growth and productivity goals. This position requires technical curiosity and hands-on aptitude to develop ideas, create prototypes, and evaluate their performance.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Associates degree in a technical field
Hands-on mechanical skills including ability to build, operate, and maintain equipment
Exposure to and interest in design, prototyping, and manufacturing
Proficient in using a computer including MS Office Suite
Ability to lift objects up to 40 lbs. and stand for a large portion of the day
Demonstration of safe work practices
Experience designing test methods, data collection and analysis
Ability to travel <20% of the time with advanced notice. Trial time will vary through the year and be dependent of project needs.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or science field
Experience in a manufacturing and/or R&D facility
Experience with statistical analysis, data analysis, and reporting

Practices safety-conscious behaviors in all operational processes and procedures
Self-starting problem solver who works with minimal supervision and balances multiple assignments
Constant desire and ability to learn new things with a passion for understanding how things work
Attention to detail and dedication to documenting knowledge
Ability to adapt to changing conditions and priorities
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $35.00 - $40.00 per hour
Expected hours: 8 per week
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
