Southern Oregon Dental is Hiring a Dental Assistant Near Grants Pass, OR

Job Summary:
Southern Oregon Dental is expanding its team! We are a privately owned practice and see patients 6 days a week. Currently we are looking for a dental assistant to join us on Saturdays. The ideal candidate will assist the dentist during a variety of treatment procedures and help provide quality patient care. An x-ray license and EFDA certification are preferred. However, all candidates will be considered. We are willing to train a motivated individual. Compensation will reflect experience and certification.

Duties:

-Assist with opening and closing procedures
- Prepare patients for dental procedures
- Sterilize and disinfect instruments and equipment
- Assist dentists during procedures by handing them instruments and anticipating their needs
- Instruct patients on postoperative and general oral healthcare
- Take dental X-rays
- Maintain accurate patient records

Requirements:

- Ability to assist with X-Rays
- Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or willingness to learn
- Knowledge of dental instruments and sterilization methods
- Understanding of health & safety regulations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to perform basic computer tasks
- Certification in Dental Assisting is a plus

Skills:
- Proficiency in infection control procedures
- Familiarity with medical records management
- Experience as a Dental Receptionist is advantageous
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations
- Proficiency in dental assisting procedures
- Familiarity with dental terminology

Our office is closed the first Saturday of each month and is generally open 3-4 Saturdays a month. We see patients between the hours of 9am and 2pm. Assistant working hours are 8:30am-close (which is usually 2pm-2:30pm.)

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 6 per week
