Siskiyou Community Health Center has a full-time opportunity for a Dental Hygientist located in Grants Pass, Oregon. This position provides day-to-day front and back office supervision, overseeing staff and performing duties necessary to ensure efficient walk-in clinic, lab, radiology, and other assigned operations. Ensures quality of care and services to internal and external customers.

*Schedule: Can be 5, 8 hour days OR 4, 10 hour days*

POSITION SUMMARY: Under the general supervision of a qualified Dentist in a dental clinic setting, Dental Hygienist assesses patient needs, plans and delivers direct dental care and associated services to patients, and utilizes established dental hygiene protocol and procedures.

DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Assesses dental condition and patient needs using patient screening procedures, including medical history review, dental charting, and perio charting. Takes patient vital signs as required.

· Documents dental history or chief complaints.

· Records and reports pertinent observations and patient relations as appropriate.

· Develop and implement individualized dental care plans for patients. Provides patient and family education under the supervision of a qualified Dentist.

· Delivers direct patient care to patients as assigned, using established dental hygiene procedures, such as debridement, prophy, scaling and root planing, x-rays, application of sealants and fluorides, and related procedures.

· Identifies high-risk patients and recognizes emergency situations.

· Assists with or institutes emergency measures for sudden adverse reactions during treatment of patients.

· Performs reasonable administrative and other responsibilities assigned by Siskiyou CHC.

· Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:

1. High school diploma or equivalent is required.

2. Current licensure as a Dental Hygienist in the State of Oregon.

3. Graduation from an accredited Dental Hygiene School.

4. Bachelor’s degree preferred.

5. Current CPR and First Aid certification.

6. Proof of current immunizations meeting OSHA health and immunization standards.

Pay depended upon education and experience. Additional compensation for expanded functions.
