About this position: LMCU is looking for a Senior Internal Auditor who will be responsible for independently conducting and leading audit engagements of the Credit Union to assess the effectiveness of controls, accuracy of financial records and efficiency of operations; provide documentation of the Credit Union's internal control systems; report findings and make recommendations. Provide guidance and oversight to staff assigned to help on engagements. Read and interpret guidance provided by manager and apply to assigned audits as applicable. This can require creation of new audit program steps and testing procedures for complex accounting and compliance standards. What you’ll do: Performs assigned audit procedures and recommends enhancements to the Credit Union's operating systems. Updates audit programs based on updates to guidance and/or internal procedures as directed by management. This can include adding program steps and designing tests of operational effectiveness. Leads audit engagements, including oversight and mentoring of assigned audit staff and reporting of findings and recommendations. Performs evaluations of the Credit Union's internal control systems by maintenance of permanent files incorporating narrative descriptions, flowcharts, memos, etc.; reports findings and recommendations. What You’ll Bring: You’ll like this position if you have... 6-8 years of similar or related experience, including preparatory experience, or 3-5 years with industry certification (CIA, CPA, CFE, CISA). A bachelor's degree in business, accounting, finance, or similar or related field of study. Industry certification (CIA, CPA, CFE, CISA) preferred. Must have a working knowledge of spreadsheets and word processing software; must be able to use a PC and all types of general office equipment.
