POSITION : FISH CLEANER
DEPARTMENT : SEAFOOD
REPORTS TO : SEAFOOD MANAGER
RESPONSIBILITIES :
1. Responsible for the fast and efficient cleaning of all seafood items as requested by the shopper
2. Responsible for following correct food safety practices in the cleaning and handling of fish and other seafood products like thawing frozen products and cleaning cutting boards
3. Should always to follow company procedures on workplace safety
4. Assist in the receiving of seafood deliveries by transferring, stacking and organizing delivered products inside the walk-in cooler and freezer areas
5. Makes sure correct that safety gears like aprons, caps, and safety gloves are always utilized properly
6. Responsible for following proper personal hygiene practices to assure safe handling of food and the prevention of cross contamination
7. Responsible for maintaining the work area clean at all times and devoid of any water pools which may cause slip and fall accident between co-employees and customers
8. Responsible for maintaining and keeping cleaning equipment including water hoses and water valves, cleaver, knives, scale removers, and cutting boards
9. Responsible for cleaning and emptying all drain filters under the cleaning table and floor drains every 4 hours or as needed
10. Responsible for emptying all garbage bins in the seafood work area and throwing it to the garbage compactor
11. May perform other tasks that are assigned from time to time
