Company Overview

General Summary:

Support training and development needs of field leaders and field leader training team training programs. Partners in the development of a measurement framework to ensure results tracking to support Training and Development’s role in supporting company initiatives and budget tracking. Assists in the technical design, production, implementation, and project management of Learning courses and simulations that drive business performance.

Job Details

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Support for coordinating and scheduling training sessions, preparing training materials, managing participant registrations, maintaining and updating employee training records, and providing administrative support to the field leader training and development team. (30%)
  • Conduct training needs assessments to identify training gaps and content development needs for the field leader audiences. This will assist the T&D manager in design of effective training programs that will enhance employee skills and performance. (30%)
  • Responsible for the management and oversight of Learning Management System (LMS) content that pertains to the field leader audiences. This includes: ensuring the training materials are up-to-date, relevant, and engaging. Tasks include uploading new content, updating existing modules, monitoring user feedback, and working closely with the Training and Development managers to design and implement effective learning strategies and curriculums. (20%)
  • Responsible for coordinating and managing all on-site training logistics including scheduling, travel planning, arranging necessary equipment, and ensuring all training materials are prepared and distributed timely. The specialist will also liaise with trainers and participants, handle any related queries, and ensure a smooth and efficient learning environment that aligns with Dollar General Corporation's standards and objectives. (10%)
  • Assisting the T&D Management team with facilitation of both virtual and in-person classroom training sessions, ensuring effective delivery of training materials and engagement of participants, while supporting the overall goals of the Training and Development team at Dollar General Corporation. (10%)

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Can work effectively with people of diverse races, ages, education, and ethnic backgrounds.
  • Knowledge of multimedia eLearning solutions from platform selection to design and measurement.
  • Strong knowledge of database design required.
  • Team leader who is willing to learn from and teach others.
  • Demonstrated to be self-motivated and deadline-driven; ability to adapt to changing priorities.
  • Must be able to perform advanced PC applications including: Microsoft Access, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project,

Qualifications

Work Experience &/or Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business preferred.
  • Experience of 2-5 years in employee training and development or in human resources position with employee development emphasis.
  • Equivalent education/experience required.
  • Note: This position requires flexible work hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.
