Key Roles & Responsibilities

Other duties may be assigned. Directly or through others, the incumbent will :

• Coordinate and develop safety programs and activities at the plant that assist management in ensuring safety / health and regulatory compliance for all employees.
• Enforce compliance of safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment and increase the safety awareness of all employees.
• Support Site processes : Corrective Action Program, Audits and Surveillances, etc.
• Assist and support the Safety organization in development and reporting of performance metrics and safety issues.
• Effectively interface with Vistra supervisors / managers and other Vistra employees to ensure consistent work practices and sharing of knowledge to optimize performance of safety activities.
• Participate in special projects and committee assignments as needed.
• Administer the training and testing requirements to comply with company and regulatory guidelines.
• Manage all accidents and injuries by interfacing with all individuals, medical professionals, companies, and agencies involved ensuring proper treatment of injured employees and minimizing loss of production.

Education, Experience, & Skill Requirements

• 3 years experience in plant safety
• Management / supervisory experience preferred
• Basic computer skills required (Microsoft Office Suite programs and others as applicable.)
• Proven leadership and people skills
• General knowledge of specific plant operations
• Sound understanding of OSHA regulations and ANSI standards
• Assessing and treating injuries
• Industrial hygiene monitoring
• Care and maintenance of personal protection equipment
• Care and maintenance of emergency equipment
• Assessing and mitigating hazards
• Incident cause determination
