Job Summary:
We are seeking dedicated individuals to join our team as Police Officers. As a Police Officer, you will play a crucial role in maintaining law and order, protecting the community, and ensuring public safety. This is a challenging yet rewarding position that requires strong communication skills, critical thinking abilities, and a commitment to serving and protecting others.

Duties:
- Enforce traffic and parking laws and ordinances by issuing citations to violators
- Responding to calls for service withing the city limits
- Investigate traffic accidents
-Protects citizens by patrolling businesses and residential area and looking for suspicious persons or events
- May perform other duties by serving warrants, transporting prisoners, testifying in court, completing computer work, investigating crime scenes, and collecting evidence
- Searching, pursuing and detaining suspects
- Participate in mandatory and elective training
- Keeping proficient with firearms and self-defense
- Being familiar with the Glen Rose Police Department Policies and Standard Operating Procedures as well as the City of Glen Rose Ordinances
- Being familiar with Texas Penal Code, Texas Code of Criminal Procedures, Texas Transportation Code, Texas Family Code, and Texas Health and Safety Code.

Skills:
- Excellent report writing skills to accurately document incidents and investigations
- Proficient in surveillance techniques to gather information discreetly
- Ability to handle animals safely and effectively in various situations
- Knowledge of CPR procedures to provide immediate medical assistance when needed
- Strong driving skills to operate police vehicles safely during emergencies or routine patrols
- Experience in loss prevention strategies to prevent theft or damage to property
- Knowledge of criminal investigation techniques to gather evidence and build cases
- Possession of a valid certificate in Conflict Management is highly desirable

Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent (some agencies may require a college degree)
- Completion of police academy training program (if not already certified)
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background check, including criminal history and drug screening
