Responsibilities:
- Oversee the estimating process for construction projects, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Collaborate with project managers and clients to understand project requirements and develop cost estimates
- Analyze project plans, specifications, and other documents to determine project scope and identify potential risks or issues
- Utilize construction management software, such as Bluebeam and HeavyBid, to prepare detailed cost estimates
- Review subcontractor bids and negotiate pricing to ensure competitive pricing for materials and services
- Monitor project costs throughout the construction process and implement cost control measures as needed
- Prepare and present estimates to clients, providing clear explanations of pricing and scope of work
- Collaborate with the project management team to develop project schedules and budgets
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in construction management or a related field
- Proven experience in construction estimating, preferably in a managerial role
- Strong knowledge of construction industry practices, including building codes, regulations, and materials
- Proficient in using construction management software, such as Bluebeam
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex project documents and specifications
- Strong negotiation skills to secure competitive pricing from subcontractors and suppliers
- Ability to effectively communicate with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously
