Description
The Medical Assistant Float assists in the examination and treatment of patients under the direction of the physician. The Medical Assistant Float, though based with a home department, can be called at any time to travel to another practice location to provide coverage which covers Lexington as well as cities surrounding.
Areas of clinical practice include patients of all ages in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, Neurology and Specialties such as Cardiology / OB / GYN etc.
Though most coverage will be needed for the clinical area, the Float may also cover Patient Access areas of the front office or perform other administrative duties if needed.
Minimum Requirements :
Upon hire these disciplines will be assessed for clinical competency and be required to successfully complete an MA orientation externship as well as complete any additional training as required by the Provider.
Preferred Requirements :
Graduate of an accredited Medical Assisting program with current certification / registration from AAMA / AMT or NCCT.
Graduate of an approved practical nursing program with current Kentucky LPN Licensure.
Basic Life Support and other advanced training as appropriate.
Computer skills preferred.
