Registered Nurse (RN) - Telemetry

Dyer, IN

Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Telemetry team for a 13-week contract in Dyer, IN. This position involves providing high-quality care to patients requiring continuous cardiac monitoring.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Patient Monitoring: Continuously monitor and assess patients' cardiac rhythms and vital signs using telemetry equipment. Recognize and respond to abnormal findings.
  • Medication Administration: Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians. Monitor patients for side effects and effectiveness of treatments.
  • Direct Patient Care: Provide comprehensive nursing care including IV therapy, wound care, and other nursing procedures. Assist with activities of daily living as needed.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed patient records. Document assessments, care plans, interventions, and patient responses in a timely and precise manner.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team. Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding health conditions and treatment plans.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans for patients.
  • Compliance: Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and protocols. Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and standards of nursing practice.

Qualifications:

  • Licensure: Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana.
  • Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of recent experience in a Telemetry or similar unit. Experience with cardiac monitoring and telemetry equipment is essential.
  • Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications required.
  • Skills: Strong assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to work 12-hour night shifts and be adaptable to varying patient needs.

Pay: $2,160.00 - $2,350.00 per week
