Responsibilities
- Install, troubleshoot, and repair complex irrigation systems, including valves, controllers, mainlines, and laterals
- Perform initial start-up, midseason checks, and shutdown/winterization of irrigation systems
- Diagnose and program controllers, install backflow preventers, flow sensors, and pressure regulators
- Repair leaks in lateral and main lines, perform valve diagnostics, and maintain valves and electrical components
- Operate trencher and compactor equipment safely, and use hand tools for digging and repairs
- Retrofit existing irrigation systems for proper water coverage and work with pipeline design and layout
- Perform troubleshooting, wiring repairs, and water management practices
- Communicate effectively with clients, co-workers, and management, and complete inventory and service sheets accurately
Qualifications
- Experience with installation, troubleshooting, and repair of irrigation systems
- Proficiency with various types of tools, including remote, basic hand tools, station master, and voltmeter
- Basic knowledge of horticulture practices and safety procedures
- Ability to work within labor goals and specifications without sacrificing job quality
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
