Innovative Driven is currently seeking an Associate Attorney to join a prestigious law firm in Garden City, New York.

The Associate Attorney will specialize in handling long-term disability claims, long-term care claims, and possess a strong background in general litigation, both federal and state.

This is a Fulltime and Hybrid (2-3 days onsite) position in the law firms Garden City, NY office.

RESPONSIBILITES

• Review, assess, and analyze Long-Term Disability, Long-Term Care claims and other claims (e.g. life insurance, AD&D insurance, health insurance, property damage insurance).
• Verify claim documents, medical records, and policy information for completeness and accuracy.
• Manage a caseload of general litigation matters, mostly relating to long term disability claims, long term care claims and insurance recovery cases
• Ensure timely and accurate submission of claims information, claim forms and other proofs of loss
• Legal Research: Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to support strategy, arguments, briefs, memoranda of law, and motion practice.
• Draft and finalize voluntary and administrative appeals of benefit denials; collaborate with Claims Paralegal in the preparation of evidence and exhibits
• Ability to conduct and defend depositions, including ability to prepare and witnesses to be deposed and ability to conduct depositions of and opposing parties.
• Court Appearances: Represent clients in court proceedings, hearings, oral arguments and other legal proceedings.
• Communicate with clients, claimants, insurers, and other involved parties

REQUIREMENTS

• JD from an accredited law school
• Admission to New York Bar
• 3-5 years of Attorney experience
