It Takes A Village Academy is Hiring an Infant/Toddler Teacher Near Garden, MI

Mission Statement: To develop the whole child, physically, emotionally, socially, mentally, and spiritualy

Purpose of Position: To provide a safe & nurturing environment for children Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Implement the school's chosen curriculum and COR objectives
  • Planning and implement activities which promote intellectual, emotional, social, and physical growth according to his/her needs, ability level, and maturity.
  • Follow the curriculum guidelines set out in Creative Curriculum.
  • Complete weekly observations and log into Teaching Strategies Gold.
  • Ensure equipment and facility is clean, well maintained, and safe at all times.
  • Provide weekly lesson plans and monthly newsletters
  • Follow the policies and procedures of ITAVA Learning Center and the State of Michigan Be familiar with Parent Handbook, Staff Handbook, and Licensing Rules for the State of Michigan
  • Be familiar with emergency procedures
  • Prepare meals/snacks using safe food handling techniques

Communicate daily with team members about plans, activities, and students Attend professional meetings, educational conferences, staff meetings, and teacher training workshops in order to maintain compliance with the State Standards and improve professional competence

Supervise/Teach Children

  • Ensure children are supervised at all times
  • Provide various experiences and activities for children including songs, games, centers, stories, and other activities outlined in the curriculum.
  • Build children's self-esteem
  • Comfort Children as needed
  • Establish routines and provide positive guidance

Implement positive discipline when required

  • Clearly and effectively communicate in a manner that children understand
  • Observe children and make note of progress daily
  • Integrate special needs children in a positive and respectful manner

Communicate with parents and members of the community

  • Discuss children's development with parents as needed through Brightwheel
  • Discuss identified problems and needs with professionals as appropriate
  • Promote literacy and early education n.

Qualifications:
- minimum High School Diploma
- Previous experience working with children in a preschool or daycare setting
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and best practices
- Strong classroom management and behavior management skills
- First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Experience working with children is a plus

-CDA/ Associates Degree

-Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood or a related field

Experience:

Previous teaching experience required and experience working with young children. should have a practical understanding of early childhood education.

Personal Qualities:

  • Need to be friendly, inviting, self-motivated, even-tempered and adaptable
  • Need to be able to work with your team members

Physical:

  • Ability to carry 25-35 Ibs.,
  • Ability to walk, squat, kneel, sit on the floor, see, hear and speak with children to ensure their safety and supervision.
