The Nurse Practitioner practices in collaboration with ACG physicians and other members of a multidisciplinary health care team in accordance to the formulary approved by the Alabama Board of Nursing. This individual is also responsible for providing professional nursing for patients. The Nurse Practitioner assists physicians and staff in coordinating patient care and functions as a liaison between physicians, patients and staff. Master's Degree in Nursing from an accredited institution is required. Must have an active Alabama Family Nurse Practitioner, Adult Nurse Practitioner, or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner License. BLS and ACLS required. Must possess prescribing privileges - documentation from the Alabama State Board of Nursing and Drug Enforcement Agency Certificate. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department.Â
