Job Title: Product Engineer Department: Engineering
Reports to: Product Specialist Location: Gastonia, NC (Hybrid)

Position Overview
The Product Engineer is a critical part of our team to detail, design and develop bulk packaging products across the many industries that Gravis supports. The role will be a key position Engineering and Supply chain team, working closely with sourcing, pricing, and purchasing teams and responsible for technical specification, quality assurance, and routine testing of the current products Gravis produces and help develop new novel products. The Product Engineer’s role will be working with the other Engineers in the team to ensure all products designs are maintained and updated based on the needs of our customers and are efficiently designed.
Responsibilities
· Work with Internal and external stakeholders to design and develop custom packaging solutions.
· Coordinate appropriate product testing using both in house and outside testing labs and interprets those results to report to stakeholders.
· Stay up to date with ever-changing industry demands and regulations.
· Organize and perform on site prototype testing of Products.
· Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring adherence to timelines.
· Maintain all product specification and ensure timely updating for change or development.
· Identify industry trends and work with Engineering members to develop novel ideal for industry need.
Required Skills/Abilities:
· Strong in critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
· Effective communication and interpersonal skills are important for collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.
· Strong data analytic & systems skills including proficiency with integrated software applications (Net Suite preferred)
· Very Proficient in Excel and other Microsoft tools
· Must be self-driven and able work in a fast-paced work environment with limited oversight.
Education and Experience:
· Bachelor's Degree in a related Engineering discipline (Textile, Packaging, Industrial, etc.)
· Experience in working in Packaging Field preferred.
Physical Requirements:
· Sitting for long periods of time
· Packaging up for shipping samples weighing up to 40lbs
